Super Technologies, Inc. is the creator and operator of its service www.didx.net, the direct inward dialing wholesale phone number exchange (buy and/or sell DID among 10,000 telephony companies to then resell to their own end-users for local international numbers.) Every once in a while, we get an excellent set of questions from the new DIDX member and then to pair that off, I note sometimes excellent answers from our team members. In this case, Junaid and Steve answered the questions. Let me share them with you.
In this case, the new DIDX member needs a softswitch and rebranding and hosting. The entity is already a mobile operator.
Question (1) I'm trying to understand the technical part of the hosted rebranded Call Forward Management solution. Would you send me more details on the integration required with our core network, our billing systems and provisioning systems? I would also want to understand the call routing and call flows between 2 networks (e.g. a US carrier and our company).
Answer: The Call flow will be as follows
[US Caller] --------------------->[Local CLEC in US] ---------> [DIDX] -----------> [TP] ------------->Subscriber
[GSM/LandLine/CDMA][SIP][SIP] [GSM]
You'll need to enable SIP on your Switches / Gateway MSCs, for us to move calls toward you.
Our billing system right now is standalone, with a top-notch provisioning system as well. We can integrate that with your current billing system.
Question (2) I'd like to discuss the commercial facet of this service with you as well. Currently, we do not have MT charging within our network, so I will have to investigate how we can charge incoming calls. Also, with this service, we will need to be really careful so as not to cannibalize our existing IDD revenues.
Answer: You will need to have intelligent network interrogation enabled on the inbound leg of the call and define the DID in the tarif table as a chargeable entity on 60 sec / 30 sec pulse and/or you can charge it as an event, for a pulse duration with recurring charges later on.
Question (3) How would a US number be obtained? Will we have to enter into an obligation with one or more of the US carriers? What about numbers from other countries? Do we have to talk to and obtain MSISDNs from carriers in those countries?
Answer: Your company will be completely transparent to the number obtaining procedure. We have already completed terms and interop agreements with major telcos and have an exchange service at www.didx.net with over 10,000 members. Your business won't have to enter any legal obligation with any other telco. Each telco is responsible itself to comply with law, not to each other. Same is the case with MSISDNs (DIDs) from other countries as well.
Wishing success to you and your IP communications-related business or mash-up.

DIDX and other Wholesale Carrier Services for VoIP Change the World
Everyone on the Super Technologies, Inc. Team participates in posting to the DIDX blog, and today, it happens to be me Suzanne. I just finished a phone call with a new DIDX member who happens to be a USA CLEC who plans to sell his footprint via the DIDX API and also to use the API for access to European, African, Latin American and Asian DID for her customers. She said that once every couple months we should explain again in simple terms how DIDX helps global CLECs, ILECs and also wireless operators.
So... DIDX is a wholesale carrier service for VoIP DID. This opens the opportunity for local service providers to offer Voice over IP services, starting with DID (direct inward dialing, aka phone numbers.) In turn, end-users and resellers of the wholesalers directly access VoIP services such as global local DID from 55 countries from their wholesale provider.
DIDX jumpstarts the birth and renewal of success for a VoIP service provider of any size. Those who will benefit most from DIDX might be ISP's, cable providers, wireless operators, social and business networking sites, CLECs, ILECs, RLECs, and more. These companies with one interconnect and agreement with DIDX are empowered with millions of DID from 55 countries ready for their purchase manually or via the DIDX API. Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and IAX2 (Asterisk) are signaling protocols that use communication sessions for providing direct inward dialing to companies that lease services from the wholesale DIDX members.
The direct inward dialing service of DIDX includes choice of DID quality (0 failed, 1 success ;-), vendor rating (0-8 with 4 or 5 being good), price, usually 2 or more vendors providing any given DID area, country, city, area codes, number of channels and minutes included for that per month payment, and other items.
DIDX members are wholesale carriers and service providers... as buyers they demand the “best” services in terms of access and transfer of voice calls. Service providers have no other choice but to fulfill the ever increasing demands of their progressively mobile, tech-savvy customers. DIDX members do not have to complete one interconnect agreement nor one interop testing with EACH of the 9000+ service provider members on DIDX. They save time! They save money. They get choice. Super Technologies, Inc., the company who provides DIDX makes sure of this!
Carriers and providers who use voice over Internet still (even while a few crazy people say VoIP is dead) tend to work in a pretty much 24*7*365 support schedule because they are determined to offer the best experience, the most opportunities to their end-users. They tend to be still EXCITED about their service and what they can do for the business and consumer end-user. I am describing the typical DIDX.net member. They are more easily able to be this way because of the huge headache that we gladly take away for them with the DIDX in-house developed software billing and routing, reporting, and marketing, all in the middle.
I can't wait to meet with more of the current 9000+ DIDX members at NXTcomm08 in Las Vegas June 17-19, 2008 and also those who are interested in using DIDX.net for direct inward dialing sale/purchase needs. Sign up at NXTcommshow.com with the DIVS code.
Current and potential members of DIDX, email or call me Suzanne Bowen at Super Technologies, Inc. to schedule appointments at NXTcomm08 for video interviews about your company, biz dev discussions, if needed to learn about our CFMS and HVOIP hosted rebrand solutions, and to get your special invite to the DIDX Dinner Party at Gordon Biersch. (Current DIDX members can also login to their DIDX portals, click CONTACT US and note Attn: Suzanne and send me a message there.) DIDX is an exhibitor at booth SU7202 and a media sponsor of NXTcomm08!

RLECs Find New Ways to Innovate Via DIDXchange (DIDX)
Super Technologies, Inc.'s V.P. Suzanne Bowen will be covering the NCTA IP Possibilities conference next week via blog, Qik, and more. Check out the most recent short note on rural local exchange carriers. Often, surprisingly, RLECs embrace new technologies and innovations before others in the telecommunications industry. Recently as many as 44% of new www.didx.net global wholesale direct inward dialing members are RLECs from around the globe.
See more information at Suzanne's blog and in our press release. Visit with Suzanne Bowen at NTCA. Feel free to call for an appointment with her at 1 850 433 8555 at NTCA's event in Chicago, Illinois. Leave your name, phone number, company name and which day and time is best for you to meet. She'll return your call as soon as possible, or check to see if you can directly connected to her. ... compliments of the Super Technologies, Inc. team
