Can't Afford Santo Domingo Real Estate? Buy a Phone Number

A 1500 square foot home in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic will cost approximately $120,000 USD. A commercial property averages 1 million USD.

An excellent alternative to buying an office in Dominican Republic is to buy a local DID (direct inward dialing, better known as ... phone number). If the reader is a wholesale service provider of telecommunications, join www.didx.net to buy and resell to valuable clients. Readers who are expatriates, a students studying abroad, tourists, businesspeople with a current or potential market in D.R., etc... should ask the telecommunications service provider if they are a member of http://www.didx.net/. If yes, Santo Domingo phone numbers and numbers from thousands of cities and 70 other countries are available! (Watch videos on Youtube of providers who are members of DIDX ** who can provide you with international phone numbers.)

What is so great about Santo Domingo? Why would anyone want to have a local presence via a local phone number in Santo Domingo event though they work and/or reside in another country?

Santo Domingo, also known as Santo Domingo de Guzmán, is the capital and largest city in the Dominican Republic. It is also the largest city in the Caribbean, with a metropolitan population of 2,253,437 in 2006. The city is located on the Caribbean Sea, at the mouth of the Ozama River.

The tropical trade winds keep the temperature at a lovely comfortable range of 70s - 80s F year around.

Many international firms or even headquarters in Santo Domingo because of its geographic location, government stability and healthy economy.

Dominican Republic's telecommunications system is privatized and integrated with the USA system which is another reason it is able to fully compete globally. Codetel is the main telecom and owned by América Móvil and before that Verizon. Other mobile and landline providers include Claro, Tricom, Viva, and Orange.

It's an exciting place to vacation because of also the Zona Colonial District's numerous museums and architecture as well as the many parks, malls and recreational areas.

Famous people from Santo Domingo include Julio Iglesias (Spanish singer) and numerous baseball players. "Pregúntale" ... us at DIDXchange for any guidance you need with buying and/or selling DID wholesale among now 17,000+ other providers!

** One provider with DIDX vendor ID 717074 (with a vendor rating of 3) offers Santo Domingo at $6 setup and $6/month which includes 10,000 incoming minutes. This vendor has zero technical issues so far but is new on DIDX. All buyers of the phone numbers from this vendor have a good experience so far.

Jimmy Buffet Wants Fruitcake, Customers want CNAM

Jimmy Buffet wants his fruitcake, and customers want their CNAM!

How CNAM DIP compensation works? What is this thing called "DIP" that telecommunications providers discuss?

It is where telecom companies exchange caller ID information in relation to the associated phone number (DID, or direct inward dialing). How does this work? It provides the "calling name" and call number, visible on a hard phone LCD or soft phone display, to caller ID subscribers. Each incoming call you receive on your phone number that supports caller ID... the local phone company who is receiving the call (your phone company) compensates the phone company that the call originated from for what service? Providing them with CNAM which is caller name.

Each of these CNAM “DIP” transactions is fee-based. Each time you “DIP” into the database, the originating telecom is compensated. So if Company A's customer dials 1-850-432-7411, then the Company B who provides 1-850-432-7411 has to pay Company A a fee for each call.

Having CNAM helps you and me to get the person who could answer the call to do exactly that, answer it!!!! It basically correctly sets caller ID to city and state.

For every Tom, Dick and Harry, you and me ... we have experienced anger or distrust when we see "unknown," "private," or some other nondescript caller ID when someone calls us.

There is another side to this issue. Some carriers take longer to recognize caller ID changes from other carriers, and so do not DIP right away. Why would they do this? The rumor is that they are prolonging the amount of time before they have to start paying CNAM fees for that phone number. Meanwhile, the owner of the phone number is angry because they WANT THEIR CNAM! The phone number owner (the end user) is angry with his provider. It makes a very stressful world until resolved.

Hi Nauman,
I've just completed performing a couple of tests. We setup the DID, forwarded it to our server and set it up as a calling card number. We tested the number successfully, it gave us the account balance and everything is looking good!..

Can you please proceed now to activate our account? We're eager to get this started. Contact us on IM as soon as you can.
Thank You,

DIDX Constantly Surveys SIP DID Members for How to Improve

The DIDX care team aims to take each of its 16,000 + buyer and seller members seriously. We know that time is money, and to make dreams come true, deadlines have to be met. We talk to you every day, from the CEO to the VP to the technical and sales managers to the interns in our company to the same in yours.

Recently we compiled answers to a survey asking for our strengths, weaknesses and suggestions. These were the most mentioned of each.

Strengths:

- Good coverage and sometimes rare countries.
- Excellent prices for most destinations with the wide global footprint in one location.
- Provider Rating 0-8 with 8 as highest and 5-8 as good and often preferred by buyers using the free API.
- Trouble ticket system is not bad. It has more and more features like excellent advanced search such as for vanity numbers, certain price range, and fax-able.
- Good marketing of your services online and at conferences.
- Customer service * is quick ** as in immediately to 24 hours usually.
- Choice is huge. Choice includes DID areas, quality level, vendors (not just one each country), features, pricing, and how priced.
Weaknesses:
- Rating is not always a security, some providers that are rated high should be rated lower.
- The DIDX website is slower than it should be.
- Need to concentrate on customer service as fast as possible.
- Correct the English on the websites to mechanically correct and to make more sense to most people.

We listen. We are working on the suggestions and notices. We talk your wishes too. Just click the "Make a Wish" button in your SIP DID DIDXchange portal and tell us what you would like changed or made better in any way, new features, re-arrangement of appearance of any page, etc.

Eavesdrop on Recent Conversation with Potential New International DIDX SIP Vendor

The following is a copy of a recent discussion with a potential DID vendor for a new country to be available on DIDX. This is typical of potential vendors abroad (outside the USA) who have just now heard of DIDX.net. This one heard of DIDX.net from meeting us at several conferences around the world and recently decided to get started. That's good news for 16,000+ providers using DIDX.
...

In order to provide a good rate plan, I need certain information about your client's case.

- What will the number be used for ? Audio conferencing bridge in the country of the user that the DID belongs to? Call forwarding to a destination number? Calling card services? For connection to SIP trunking servers? Or just for normal enterprise customers' business needs like sales enquiries and customer services?

- Is your existing client using "pick your nation" phone numbers now? If yes, how's their existing traffic volume per month? What are the existing problems in using the "pick your nation" 800 toll free or type DID numbers?

- In order to give you the rates, also advise where will our calls terminate to? USA, Canada, or somewhere else? The reason is this different country destinations will have different rate plans.

- How soon will your customer want this service to be up and running?

- How soon will your company want to set up the test?
