Interview with Mohsin Zaka, President of Softec

DIDX and its sister service and press/magazine Techistan are media partners for Softec 2010, an extremely popular South Asian software developers' conference in Lahore, Pakistan. It is scheduled Mar. 20-21, 2010. Ali Hassan and Omar Shaikh, some of *my colleagues at Super Technologies,  interviewed Mohsin Zaka, president of Softec.

1. Tell us about the competitions in the past at Softec.

Answer: About the winners of the last years, every competition has a separate winner. we mainly announce the winners and the runner ups ans rest are given certificates.

Answer: Yes, there are exhibits as well who are mainly sponsors of the event ( SOFTEC is totally a non profit organization and the event is run all with the help of sponsored funds )

Answer: Last year,a round about 800 participants (school level to under grad) participated in different competitions. 

this year, up till now we already have 70 registered teams ( almost 300+ students) while the registration deadline is 1st March 2010. We hope to get even more participation this year.

5. What will be new in 2010? 

Answer: This time we are planning to hold a " tech talk " so that different speakers, bloggers come and express there views on different topics.
