So, your IP communications company, CLEC, hosted VoIP provider service, or wireless operator business has a DIDX account and is buying SIP or IAX DID in wholesale and in turn, reselling those DID phone numbers from 60+ countries to your end-users, both individuals and groups. Why is it that some DID on DIDX cannot be used on calling card platforms?
Answers directly from DIDX vendors and we will add more as receive answers:
1. The provider typically doesn’t care. The only reason it usually would say NO for using on calling card platform is because of regulatory reasons. So if the government regulatory organizations do not approach us based on a complaintm then we don’t care how the DID is used. Uf the regulatory approaches us with a problem, then we will have to cut the line. So I believe it will all depend on the regulatory regime for telecom products in the particular country of the DID phone number.
2. There may be a regulation such as from Indotel, PTA, or BTRC (the regulatory institutions in Dominican Republic, Pakistan, or Bangladesh) that prohibits the use of regular DID numbers for calling card applications. If this were true, it would be indicated to Super Technologies, Inc. regarding the DIDx service it runs with several e-mails and documents pertaining the matter.
In general, the seller of the DID numbers does not pre-emptively take measures. If another carrier/operator/whistleblower brings the matter into the DID sellers' and Indotel's attention, then the Indotel will issue a cease or desist order, and probably accompany it with a suspension order.
3. Some incidents that a DID seller or government authority would request cease and desist and possibly suspend a number with suspicion of calling card use where not allowed.
A. A whistleblower tells the authority.
B. The number is listed on calling cards.
C. The number has calls routing through it 24/7.

DIDX 2010 Plans Include Publicity of its Innovative Members
Looking back at 2009, can you highlight some of the most important advancements or trends that emerged in the market you serve? What were the key trends that impacted your business?
The market we serve includes mixes and mash-ups of U.S. and international CLECs, wired and wireless carriers and operators, and entrepreneurs and SMBs who leverage wholesale IP communications. Because of open source telephony, SIP, social networking tools and even our DID peer-to-peer platform, the lines have blurred as to exactly how to categorize our market.

We started this year in an economic recession, it seems like we're now pulling out of that, what are your thoughts?
The recession forced us to think out of the box on how to help our clients and suppliers on DIDX to get more out of business collaborations with us. We were already showcasing our partners at conferences via video interviews and photo galleries. We evolved from there to start the new and popular Techistan.net and our DIDX podcast channel at didx.net/podcast - complimentary marketing tools we offer each active DIDX member. Our company, Super Technologies Inc., never felt any financial pinch and I think it was because we are always too busy serving our customers and making a better solution than to pay attention to the dark message of the media.

Dad Explains Direct Inward Dialing and Getting Acquired
Recently, our VP's father who is over 70 wise years of age, asked a new friend he and his wife made at Golden Corral, what was their DID number? Keep in mind, he's had several hundred conversations with his daughter about the concepts of IP telephony and direct inward dialing. The other senior citizen couple laughed with pleasure when Mr. Lombard proceded to explain what a DID was.
Here's how he defined it, "For people like you and me, it has become synonymous with a 'phone number.' The geeky people like my daughter, her company and all the others in the world involved with voice over Internet would define it another way. It is a technology that lets people like you and me and small businesses and other kinds of groups all over the world make telephone call to an internal telephone extension within an organization or home without having to go through a traditional operator. You tend to save a LOT of money and you get to answer your phone call on instant messengers ... voip applications on your cell phone even."

It was a key enabler for several dozen of DIDX service provider (buyer) members to get ACQUIRED in the past five years. There are not very many other services and businesses in the world that have been able to be that kind of influence on business sales Globally.
