Nike in Darfur, Flipping Property, and Virtual Offices ... SAC Steel and DIDX

(Omar Chohan of SAC International and I Suzanne Bowen of DIDX) were filmed at the Grant Grill in San Diego during CTIA Wireless and Entertainment October 2009. I interviewed Chohan on audio podcast in late 2008 for http://www.didx.net/podcast and was happy to get an update of news. They buy commercial property, flip and rehabilitate them.

A second successful venture is used clothing. You've heard of one man's trash is another's treasure. SAC has 100,000 square feet and 80 or so employees who store, group, and package used clothing and ship to countries where the clothes have value.

Their original business is a USA-based steel business with clients that range from BMW to local mom and pop steel fabricating companies.

SAC also runs an international trade business based in UAE. They also take advantage of virtual presence and virtual numbers and help others to do the same via Regus and DIDX.

SAC is an example of successful diversification even during what many are calling a tough, tough recession. Omar and I discussed the fact that it is clear that the economy is improving faster than we imagined and we both have a positive outlook and see excellent economic times for both of us and many others.

Why and how? Customer service is very important. Use social media naturally for business, not like a commercial. Be brave and think out of the box in ways of doing business. Meet up with your competitors, clients and suppliers and potential of all three at conferences.

Thank you, Noreen Rucinski, for recording the video. I appreciated all your help while in San Diego.
