Ever watched children spruce up their school yard, play football, run races, and cheer? Seen the look in their parents' eyes when their grades increase, they start doing homework, take part in community projects, and use new technologies to effectively to reach their life goals? That's what the Linking Arms' Telethon is all about! Throw in some open source, SIP, the right equipment behind the scenes thanks to TEAMFORREST, DIDX, Skype, and Digium, and we're talking even more good news for all.
We posted a request for help on the Asterisk-Biz list for this project and received several responses. TEAMFORREST will provide the telephony solution. DIDX will provide the direct inward dialing. Digium sent over headsets from Skype.
We're still looking for 15 more laptops just for one week around March 13-23. We need them to be in working condition with wireless feature and for less than one week. We also need Internet that will support up to 20 voice over Internet calls at one time and a location for the telethon. Anyone want to help? Contact Kenny Dickerson at http://www.linkingarms.org/contact.htm.
The whole project will be based on SIP and Asterisk.
We'll send out a press release soon. Those who help out will be recognized in a GLOBAL PRESS Release along with TEAMFORREST, Digium, DIDX and Skype. That is great company ;-)
Thank you from us at DIDX, Linking Arms and its sponsors and board of directors, and the hundreds of children in Northwest Florida (Pensacola) area and their families.
